Seoul Olympic Park Fencing Gymnasium
Gackt held his DIABOLOS tour here in 2006. This was his first tour in Asia. This gymnasium was built to host the fencing events during the 1988 Summer Olympics and holds up to 7,000 people. The Fencing Gymnasium is also used for fairs, seminars and concerts. Melon AX, Seoul
Gackt held his GACKT TRAINING DAYS IN KOREA DRUG PARTY ASIA TOUR 2007 in this venue. This live house opened in June 2006, and has a standing capacity of 2,000. This is the first mid-size life house ever build in Korea. They brought in the sound systems technology used in SHIBUYA-AX in Japan as a model for Melon Ax.

Beijing Workers Stadium
This was where the Japan-China diplomatic relations normalization 30th Anniversary commemoration concert was held in 2002. Gackt performed the songs Speed Master, rain, and Another World. Other artists who participated in the event were Ayumi Hamasaki, Noriko Sakai, Meisho Tosha, and Shinji Tanimura from Japan and Coco Lee, Alan Tam, 零点楽隊, 劉俊, 毛宇, 孫楠 from China.
The Workers Stadium is located on Gongti Road in Chaoyang district.

Taipei Government County Multi-Purpose Hall 台北縣政府多功能集會堂
This is where Gackt held his GACKT TRAINING DAYS IN TAIWAN DRUG PARTY ASIA TOUR 2007. This Hall is located on 161 Zhongshan Rd., Sec. 1, Banqiao, Taipei County.


Ding Tai Fung (鼎泰豐)
Upon landing in Taiwan for his Taiwan Drug Party tour, Gackt went straight to the Xing Yi branch of Ding Tai Fung restaurant. Ding Tai Fung is well known for its steamed dumplings and the restaurant is very popular in Taiwan. They also have opened branches in Japan, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea and the United States of America. DIRECTIONS

Hao Ji Noodle (好記擔仔麵)
According to the articles from Taiwan, Gackt went to this restaurant after the first day of the Taiwan Drug Party Tour concert. Not only is the restaurant popular among the locals, but it has also attracted a lot of artists from other countries to try its noodles.

Rongxing Park (榮星花園)
According to news articles, Gackt went to this park to take some personal photos and videos as memories of the time he spent in Taiwan during the Drug Party Tour. This park contains one of Taipei's most scenic landscapes and is frequently visited by locals and tourists.

Germany

Burg Katz
Burg Katz is a castle built atop a hillside overlooking the German town of St. Goarshausen in Rhineland-Palatinate. The famous Rhine River is right below it. The name translates to Cat Castle. There is also a Burg Maus in the town, which translates to Mouse Castle.

Apparently, Gackt stayed in Burg Katz while he was in Germany doing the photoshoot for the 2005 Official Calendar. Unfortunately, the castle is not open to the public.

St. Goarshausen
A town located in Rhineland-Palatinate. Burg Katz is built on the hillside above the town. The most famous sightseeing spot in St. Goarshausen is the Lorelei rock. Lorelei is a rock found on the eastern bank of the Rhine and soars high up above the water line. It is associated with various German folklore and poetry.
Gackt did some photoshoots for the 2005 Official Calendar in this town.

St. Goar
Known as the twin city of St Goarshausen, it can be found on the other side of the Rhine River. The famous castle ruin of Burg Rheinfels and the German Doll and Teddy Bear Museum can also be found in this town.
Gackt did some photoshoots in this town and also filmed the PV for Kimi ni Aitakute single (君に逢いたくて) in one of the train stations.

Bacharach
Bacharach is a town located on the west bank of the Rhine River in Rhineland-Palatinate. It is said that the best part of the Rhine River can be seen on a 1.5 hour cruise from St.Goar to Bacharach. The town used to be famous for its winery, so all you wine-lovers, remember to try the famous Bacharach wine! Those interested in Medieval Germany will probably love this town as well.

Rüdesheim
Rüdesheim is a village in the district of Bad Kreuznach, in Rhineland-Palatine, Germany. The Nahe River is only a few kilometers away from this village. Here you can find many historical landmarks such as the Klunkhardshof, Adler Tower, Broemser castle and the ruins of the Ehrenfels Castle. Other places of interest in Rüdesheim include Brömserburg Museum, which has on display old presses and a collection of ancient Roman vases, and the Museum of Mechanical Music Instrument.
Gackt did some photoshoots for the 2005 Official Calendar in this town.

Canada

Vancouver
Gackt went to Vancouver for the 5th annual Dears fanclub trip. During the trip, he organized a game where the Dears had to solve hints and collect stamps. To do this, they have to find various locations hidden within the clues and complete challenges. These are the locations chosen for the game.

Vancouver Lookout at Harbour Centre
The Lookout is at the top of a high-rise building complex called Harbour Centre. A visit to the Vancouver Lookout is said to be the best way to start one's visit to Vancouver. You can enjoy a 360 degree view of the city and informative signs point out key attractions in the city. You can also enjoy the unique experience of dining above the city in The Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant. The restaurant completes a full revolution every hour! How anyone can eat in a revolving restaurant is beyond me though... @_@

The hint for this location was "Where do fools and smoke go to?" (>.>;;) The answer is, they go up or to a high place. Vancouver Lookout is the tallest building in the city and so that's the most likely place.

Vancouver Art Gallery
This gallery is the largest art gallery in western Canada. It presents national and international exhibitions of works by a range of artists. One of the most impressive collections in the gallery is that of British Columbia artist, Emily Carr. The gallery has over 200 pieces of her works on display, the world's most significant collection of Carr's work.

The hint for this location was "Autumn - the season for food, sports, and...?" That's a saying in the Japanese language and the last is art. Hence, art gallery.

Vancouver Library
The third largest public library system in Canada, Vancouver Library is funded by the City of Vancouver. The hint for this place was "The place you normally go for self-studying during summer holidays", which will of course be a library.

Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre
This aquarium is in Stanley Park, also a famous sightseeing spot. The hint for this location was "Beluga-chan is waiting". The Beluga whales are the most popular sea animals in this aquarium.

Aqua Riva
This is a restaurant near Canada Place. You, guitarist of GacktJob, was waiting at the bar and they had to play a game with him to get stamps. First, he served them maple syrup. Then, they had to find the same syrup out of the three bottles placed on the table. All three gave almost the same smell and it was hard to differentiate them. But You, who just quit smoking apparently had no difficulty picking out the right bottle.

The hint for this restaurant was "A place where you can enjoy delicious wine while looking at luxury liners." Though Vancouver has many ports/harbours, luxury liners will only set sail from Waterfront. And a place where you can enjoy good wine will be Aqua Riva restaurant.

Wild Garlic Restaurant
The name says it all. Garlic. Chachamaru, guitarist of GacktJob, was waiting here~ Those who got here get to see him perform on guitar. But here's the catch. You are supposed to count the number of times he said, "Oh~ Yeah~" during the song in order to get the stamp.
The hints were a picture of garlic and the written words "(the restaurant is) Beside xxx" and "xxx salaryman!?" The answer is kin-ta-ro, and true enough the restaurant is beside Kintaro ramen restaurant.

Hotel Vancouver #1407
Toshi, the drummer of GacktJob, was waiting in this room. They played "High & Low" with him. Basically, you have to guess whether the card you are holding is bigger or smaller than the one he is holding. If you guess correctly, you win.
The hint was the picture of the carpet of the room where they held the photo-taking session, which means that it's in the hotel. Another hint was a mathematics equation a² - 2ab + b² = 49. The answer is a = 14 and b = 7. Putting the two together, you'll get room 1407.

General Motors Place
The hint was "the home ground of one of the top three leagues in North America." The top three sport leagues are football, baseball, and ice hockey. The hockey team, Canucks, is based in Vancouver and so the answer is General Motors Place.

Kingston Taphouse
Gackt was waiting here and those lucky few who managed to solve the clues played darts with him. First, they had to solve quite a number of hints. And then they had to rearrange the first letter of each answer before finally getting "Kingston Taphouse".

New York
Gackt went to New York to film the PV for 12 gatsu no Love Song. He visited the following places, some of which you can see from the PV and others from the making of clip in PB 3.

Central Park http://www.centralpark.com
This is where the park scene from the 12月のLove Song PV was filmed. In the PV, You is sitting on the bench waiting for Gackt. A few minutes into the PV, you also see a couple taking wedding pictures on the bow bridge (http://www.centralpark.com/pages/attractions/bridges-of-central-park/bow-bridge.html), as well as a few people row boating. All of these scenes were filmed near the Lake (http://www.centralpark.com/pages/attractions/lake.html) in Central Park.
To get to Central Park,you can enter on the west side or east side. For west side access get off at 59th Street/Columbus Circle on the 1,A,B,C,D lines. For east side access, get off at 5th Avenue on the R, N lines. If you are mainly interested in going to the lake area, take the 6 to 77th street and walk west to Central Park. The easiest way to find the lake is to look for the Loeb Boathouse between 74th and 75th Street.


World Trade Center site http://www.wtc.com/news/

This is opposite the 9/11 site – World Trade Center. Messages and flowers dedicated to the victims and families of the victims were left here. Shots of the place can be seen in the PV itself as well as in the making-of clip towards the end. Gackt signs his name on one of the banners/cloths tied to the grate. You can get here by taking the 2,3,4,5,J,M,Z to Fulton Street or the A,C to Broadway-Nassau Street.


St Paul’s Chapel http://www.saintpaulschapel.org/ This chapel is on Broadway – a famous street in New York. I’m sure you’ve all heard of Broadway before. Its musicals are famous worldwide. This chapel is located one block from the World Trade Center site.

Between Broadway and Maiden Lane Gackt and the crew walked all over New York collecting signs and drawings from passer-bys. In one part of the making-of clip, we see Gackt standing underneath this post with the crew. This is just a few minutes’ walk away from the World Trade Center site.


Camper http://www.camper.com/web/en/home.asp

They took another picture of a passer-by with his drawing in front of this store. It’s a European shoe store located in Soho. You can get there by taking the R to Spring Street and walking 3 blocks west to the corner of Wooster Street and Spring Street.


Gershwin Hotel http://www.gershwinhotel.com/

In the beginning of the making-of clip included in Platinum Box 3, we see Gackt walking out of this Gershwin Hotel. We also see him smoking outside the hotel with You in the clip. This hotel is located in the flatiron district on 27th Street and you can get there by taking the 6 train to 23rd Street or the R to 23rd Street. It is quite a unique hotel and apart from hosting a variety of events, the hotel also organizes projects to help artists and children.

Chinatown

You see the sign for Chinatown Building Supply Inc. briefly in the making-of clip. Though we cannot pinpoint the exact location used for the other scenes, we figured that some of the old buildings that were in the clip were also filmed in this area. This building is located in Chinatown near the corner of Walker Street and Cortlandt Alley. To get here take the J,M,Z,Q, or 6 train to Canal Street.

Universal Studios Hollywood, Hollywood, California
Gackt booked the entire Universal Studios Hollywood for the "secret event" during his Dears overseas fanclub trip in 2007. The park was closed to the public from 6 pm and it was only open to Dears , though the upper lot was not closed off. The trip started off with the Studio Tour and the Dears were brought to the lower lot at the end of the tour. During the secret event, the Dears had to solve clues and figure out in which part of the park the GacktJob members were. This is where Gackt held the Dears-only concert during the Dears overseas fanclub trip in 2007. The acoustic concert lasted for close to three hours.

Madagascar

Lac Anosy, Antananarivo
Gackt visited Madagascar as part of the NHK TV program, Ima hadaka ni shitai otokotachi ~Gackt~ boku no hahen ga miemasuka (いま裸にしたい男たち～ Gackt ～僕の破片が見えますか) in October 2001. Please see our Clips section for screencaps from this TV program.
Some of you might find this picture familiar. This is the view of the capital, Antananarivo (The City Of A Thousand [Warriors]), from Lac Anosy. The first few places Gackt went to was Lac Anosy.

Rova
The next place that Gackt visited was the Queen's palace (Rova). It sits atop the highest point in the city and is in such a prominent position that it can be seen for tens of kilometres in just about any direction. Unfortunately, a fire in 1995 burned the palace down and reconstruction has not yet been done.

This is the Baubab Avenue in Morondava. Morondava is a city located in the province of Toliara and is famous for its Baubab trees. Baubab trees are also known as "upside-down trees" because their branches look like roots.

Australia

Sydney Opera House
Gackt held his Dears-only concert during the Dears overseas fanclub trip in 2005 in the Opera House. This famous building was also appointed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. The Sydney Opera House contains five theatres, five rehearsal studios, two main halls as well as a few restaurants and shops.
